Any guest staying at SURFING NAZARE - Guesthouse & Surfschool agrees to the terms and conditions below, as well as the disclaimer and terms and conditions for using the equipment.

CANCELLATIONS AND NO APPEARANCES

We know how special each surfing trip is for our guests, so we do our best to work with everyone's needs, wants and personal circumstances. With that in mind, once the decision has been made to book any of our services and payment has been received, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy.

Equally important is the fact that once a service has been booked, that space is unavailable to anyone who wants to book it.

If the customer, or any member of his group, decides to cancel the confirmed reservation, he must notify us in writing by e-mail. Notification of your cancellation will only be valid when we receive it in writing, taking effect from the date on which we receive it.

As canceling your appointments incurs costs for us, you will have to pay the cancellation fees as follows:

Deadline to notify us before arrival:

• if you cancel up to 30 days before your check-in date, we will keep the full amount of your deposit payment and give you a credit note to use 1 year after the original booking arrival date.

• If you cancel up to 21 days before the check-in date, we charge:

20% of the reservation deposit payment

• if you cancel up to 14 days before the check-in date, we charge:

50% of the reservation deposit payment

• if you cancel up to 7 days before the check-in date, we charge:

100% of the reservation deposit payment

The remaining amount of your deposit will be converted into a credit note that you can use to book an alternative date of your choice up to a maximum period of 1 year after the original arrival date of the reservation.

Please be aware that refunds will only be made for medical reasons supported by valid legal documents.

If you are concerned about possible financial loss due to your late cancellation, we recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy.

Check online, with your bank or through your local travel agency for affordable travel insurance that can cover last minute cancellations and/or any medical injuries that may occur while in Portugal.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Check-in starts at 16:00 and can be done until 23:45. Check-out is until 12:00.

Late check-in may be accepted depending on staff availability and prior to arrival request. €20 will be charged in case of late check-ins, paid in cash upon arrival.

REMAINING BALANCE AND REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT

Upon arrival and check-in, guests must pay the remaining balance of the confirmed reservation.

Payments can be made in cash or with credit cards. The remaining balance (net value), any fees or taxes related to credit or debit card payments are borne by the customer. When your credit card doesn't work, you can withdraw money from a nearby ATM.

A security deposit of €50/person is required in cash upon check-in. This deposit will be refunded upon check-out provided that the rules of conduct and the statement of responsibility have been fully respected during the guest's period of stay.

PAYMENT METHODS

We accept payments by bank transfer and ask for 20% of the total amount of your reservation, excluding bank fees (all fees must be borne by the bank account holder).

The remaining balance is payable on arrival.

INSURANCE POLICY

Surfing Nazaré - GuestHouse  & Surfschool has mandatory civil liability insurance in accordance with Portuguese legislation.

Our sports accident insurance only covers accidents and equipment damage that may occur during our surf lessons.

Outside of the monitored surf lessons, any personal accidents and/or any and all damages to equipment are the sole responsibility of the users and are not covered by our insurance under any circumstances.

In any case, we advise you to take out insurance that covers all the risks related to your trip, as the insurance required by law that we are obliged to have do not cover all types of medical assistance that may occur during your stay.

PRIVACY POLICY

Your email address will not be made available to third parties under any circumstances. However, we reserve the right to include you in the distribution list of our newsletter (advice on promotions and interesting news), which you can refuse to receive at any time if you wish.

Guests who participate in surf courses and other activities promoted by Surfing Nazaré - GuestHouse  & Surfschool – Portugal, authorize the recording of photographic and video material for use on the website and in other media.

Any guest has the right to refuse their photographs or videos to be used by Surfing Nazaré - GuestHouse & Surfschool, and must submit a signed written request upon arrival and check-in.

CONDUCT

Surfing Nazaré - GuestHouse  & Surfschool has the right to invite guests to leave the premises if any of the rules of conduct are violated.

Damaged property, aggressive and/or violent behavior, insults or racist comments are grounds for canceling the reservation without refund.

The accommodation operates on a self-service basis, so our cleaning staff is not obliged to clean kitchens or wash any equipment related to meals.

Guests are expected to respect each other as they share accommodation, so making noise inside or around accommodation is strictly prohibited.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the premises and accommodation, subject to the application of sanctions in accordance with Portuguese and European Union rules and regulations.

Guests who have requested keys must return them upon check-out.

Check-out is possible until 12:00.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL AND GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE

Equipment rental requires the delivery of a valid identification document (Passport, Identity Card or Driver's License) and a security deposit related to the rented equipment.

Payment for on-site equipment rental is made in cash and must be made before starting to use the equipment.

The use of rented equipment is the sole responsibility of the customers, so Surfing Nazaré Insurance - GuestHouse  & Surfschool does not cover equipment damage and/or theft and/or total loss of equipment.

The rented equipment must be returned undamaged, subject to sanctions for damage caused to the equipment, its partial or total loss, according to the table available at reception or online.

The return of equipment after the contracted period implies a payment of 1 h of rent for each 1/2 h of delay.

METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Weather conditions are completely out of our control and, as such, we cannot always guarantee ideal conditions for surfing; whether due to bad weather, strong winds, risky and/or dangerous conditions for surfing, pollution, dense fog, total absence of waves or any unpredictable condition and/or restriction of regular access to beaches. However, if this happens, we will try to create alternative schedules. If an instructor deems the conditions to be unsafe and/or may pose any risk to guests and equipment, classes will be canceled without refund and we will attempt to reschedule.

No refunds are given unless a guest cancels lessons and/or a surf course for medical reasons.
